AF lenses will fit, but won't Autofocus. They will still meter, and be used in the Auto mode, but you'll have to focus the lens manually.
AF-S lenses are fully functional. They will Autofocus.
The 55-200mm lens will Fit, and Autofocus on your Nikon D40. The 28-80mm lens is Compatible- but won't Autofocus, because it's AF- and depends on an AF motor in the camera. The D40 doesn't have that motor, it depends on lenses with their own motors.
